WANTED

a walking and talking partner

Hi there!

If you are reading this, you already know a whole lot about me but here are the high points. You know, for example, that I have just built a new house so space might be an issue, but that I have a nice yard perfect for us to hang out. You know I recently changed jobs and work away from home a couple of days every week. You might also be aware I have had three prior walking companions and for each, I made sure they didn’t suffer at the end. You for sure know I write and that one day you’ll surely end up featured in a weekly blog.*

What am I looking for? You’re middle-aged but in good health, still energetic but not too exuberant. You’re sized well for a laneway house and have your own bed. I prefer it if you're short-haired and require minimal grooming. Colour is of no concern and nor is breeding; it’s important, though, that you’ve been well-trained. You’re a good walking companion because you don’t get distracted by passing cars or other walkers and you enjoy offering wise silent advice about my day while we’re out. Please limit unprovoked barking at me or anyone else. You like an occasional car ride especially with the windows down so the wind rushes by your ears. You enjoy listening to me singing along in the car with eclectic mixed CDs or First Wave Radio on Sirius XM.  When we’re home, I’d be delighted if you like to watch me cook, but please don’t get underfoot; begging is demeaning for us both but I promise I will share in the bounty. I’m hoping you like watching Netflix with me, and I’d be happiest if I can stroke your head while you rest it comfortably on my leg. Yes, you may lick my hand or offer kisses on my cheek. Sometimes I will need quiet time for reading or writing and so you must be able to entertain yourself or nap as needed.

Finally, I prefer a candidate who has an available male human companion on the other end of the leash.

Wanna share your dog with me? DM me a photo of your dog and we’ll go from there.
